Mr. Barr has nearly 40 years of experience in public relations and journalism. He has worked for newspapers, corporations, trade associations and consulting firms. He founded CARMA in 1984 after foreseeing the value of media content analysis as a strategic and tactical measurement tool. Since that time, CARMA has been a pioneer, leading the industry for 25 years. As the first to commercialize the industry, Mr. Barr has remained true to his vision that CARMA International should be devoted to the business of cutting-edge global media analysis.

With an undergraduate degree from Manhattan College, service in Vietnam as a Marine infantry officer and an MBA from Columbia University, Mike began his career in New York as an advertising account executive. He was with SSC&B/Lintas and, later, Wells Rich Greene. He moved to Washington as advertising manager of the U.S. Postal Service. He was a founding partner at Porter, Novelli & Associates; CEO of Shandwick's Henry J. Kaufman & Associates; general manager of the Washington office of Earle Palmer Brown; and senior vice president of Direct Impact, Burson-Marsteller's grassroots communications subsidiary. In June 2006, Mr. Carberry was inducted into the National Capital Hall of Fame of the Public Relations Society of America. 

Mr. Carberry is an adjunct professor of marketing at American University and a retired Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.

Jean-Marc Léger is president of CARMA International in Canada. He is also an economist and is president and CEO of LEGER MARKETING, a marketing surveys and strategic consulting firm. He is also president of the Board of Directors of UQAM, the third largest university in Canada and is president of the Publicity Club. The Chamber of Commerce recognized the quality of the research carried out by the firm giving LEGER MARKETING the award for the best marketing company due to its rigorous, high-quality and innovative research techniques.

Mr. Vesey comes to CARMA from The Batey Group, a $275 million (U.S.) Asia Pacific communications company. He has worked in London, Singapore, Edinburgh and Paris during his career in the communications business. Tom has directed integrated marketing/communications programs over multiple regions for major clients, which include: Singapore Airlines, IBM, Visa International, Swatch, Hewlett Packard and the Bank of Scotland. He has also served as managing director of Hall Advertising, Scotland's largest advertising agency and international director of DDB Needham in France.

Jim Macnamara has a 30-year career in media and public communication and is an internationally recognised authority on research for planning and measurement of communication. After working as a journalist, in leading PR firms and running his own consultancy for 13 years, in 1995 he established the Asia Pacific franchise of global media analysis firm, CARMA International which was acquired by Media Monitors in early 2006.

Jim holds a BA in journalism, media studies and literary studies; an MA by research in media studies; and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in media research. He is the author of 11 books and is an Adjunct Professor in Public Communication at the University of Technology Sydney.

Mr. Inoue's extensive public relations experience working with overseas companies in the Japanese market is an invaluable asset for CARMA. Mr. Inoue is involved in developing communication programs for high-tech firms entering the Japanese market in the IT field. Mr. Inoue is a fellow member of the International Public Relations Association and a member of numerous organizations, including the Japan Association of Corporate Executives (Keizai-Doyukai).

Mr. Willoughby-Macdonald brings his experience as a journalist, political scientist and business man to CARMA Chile which is based in Santiago. He has over 20 years of experience as a consultant with his own company. His political background included his position as Presidential Advisor in three administrations. Mr.Willoughby-Macdonald is a board member in industrial, financial and social institutions. He was a former Ford Motor Co. manager, Honorary Texas Citizen and active in the local US Chamber of Commerce.
