Measurement in PR and Communications not an option!
– International leaders in key debate at Asia conference

Two prominent UAE public relations leaders took part in a major conference debate to underline the importance of showing the value of public relations and communications programmes.

The session was a highlight of the Global Summit on Measurement, in Bangkok in May, organised by AMEC, the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication.

The UAE speakers were Mazen Nahawi, CEO of CARMA, a leading international media intelligence company headquartered in Dubai and Brian Lott, Executive Director, Group Communications, Mubadala, Abu Dhabi.

The special session, called Measurement and the PR and Communications Professional
– Why measurement is non-negotiable, also involved top international speakers from China, India, the United States, Hong Kong, the Middle East, Australia, UK and US.

The AMEC Global Summit brought together international PR leaders, PR consultancy heads, corporate communications and Non-Profit professionals in a special session to encourage PR and communications professionals to use the latest measurement techniques.

“Communications professionals are entrusted with protecting and growing reputation; they cannot do so credibly without strong research that helps them understand audiences and issues, and measurement that helps guide messages and campaigns,” says Mazen Nahawi, CEO, CARMA. “The AMEC summit will help underline the importance of measurement and analytics and will support those in PR and communications who will win the game by anchoring their activity in accurate data and actionable insights.”

Speakers at the Global Summit included representatives from Huawei Technologies, GE South Asia, Philips, GlaxoSmithKline, Citigroup, Microsoft, American Express, Lenovo, as well as speakers from the UK Government and the Singapore Government.
